This Privacy Policy governs your use of the FaceLive application and services ("we," "us," or "our"). It describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application and web platform.
1 Device Permissions & Access
To provide our core identity verification services, FaceLive requests specific permissions only when necessary and for the stated purpose.
Used strictly to perform liveness checks (ensuring you are a real person), capture facial data for identity verification, and scan identity documents such as Aadhaar cards for OCR extraction.
Required to save your encrypted profile photo securely on your device, temporarily store document scans during verification before upload, and allow you to upload a profile picture from your gallery.
2 Information We Collect
a. Personal Information
When you register, we collect:
- Name & Email — for account creation, authentication, and account recovery.
- Phone Number — for SMS/OTP verification where applicable.
b. Biometric & Face Data
We capture facial imagery using your device camera. This data is processed locally and/or on secure servers to generate a mathematical representation (embedding), which is used solely to verify your identity against your registered profile. Raw facial images are stored securely and are never shared with third-party marketing services.
c. Identity Document Data (Aadhaar)
If you choose to verify your identity using an Aadhaar card, we process the document to extract Name, Year of Birth, and Gender for verification purposes. We mask the first 8 digits and store only a hash or masked version, in compliance with regulatory guidelines.
We store only what's necessary for verification. Sensitive document numbers are never stored in plain text.
d. Device & Log Information
To prevent fraud and secure your account, we automatically collect device identifiers (Android ID), IP address, and network status.
3 Community Safety Standards
FaceLive has a zero-tolerance policy regarding harassment, abuse, or illegal content, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM). We utilize automated checks and manual reporting. Any user found violating these standards will be permanently banned, and illegal content will be reported to the relevant authorities (NCMEC).
4 Third-Party Services
We transmit data to trusted third-party service providers for specific processing tasks:
- Supabase — secure cloud database, authentication, and storage.
- Google Services — authentication (Google Sign-In) and app analytics.
- Brevo (formerly Sendinblue) — sending OTPs and transactional emails.
Each provider is bound by their own privacy policies and data processing agreements. We do not sell your data to any third party.
5 Data Retention & Deletion
You have the right to request complete deletion of your account and all associated data, including facial embeddings and personal information.
How to delete your data:
- Send an email to support@facelive.app with the subject "Delete My Account".
- Include your registered email address in the body of the message.
Your data will be permanently removed from our active databases within 30 days of verification.
6 Children's Privacy
FaceLive is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete such information immediately.
